Default DTE Powertrain Corvette Differential Sale! --->

Now that we have finally settled into our new facility over these last couple of months, where most of our equipment/machinery is up and running AND since we haven't held a product sale for a number of years; we decided to host a differential sale in response to that, taking care of our customer base that got us here.

We've contacted all of our product dealers all across the USA this past week to let them know about it also, so they are plugged in with us already at the same pricing and are ready to serve you.

**From now until Labor Day, all DTE Powertrain lines of "Sport" and "Super Sport" Series C5 and C6 Corvette IRS Differentials are on sale at 15% off and this covers all C5, all base C6, all A6/C6 and all C6-Z06 Corvette Differentials! This major discount will save you anywhere from $210-$525 off depending on the model chosen!!

You may purchase directly from us as always and we can ship the the completed unit to your door or you may purchase from your favorite installer/tuner and they can install it for you. We're pretty flexible with shipping routes and have a good depth of authorized installers all over the USA to take care of just about anyone...anywhere!

Below are the respective web pages that you can review which outline our entire C5/C6 Corvette IRS Differential product line, except for the "Competition" Series Differentials, so please call direct about those specialty units if interested. Just click on the page and a file will open for you that containes the differential menu/options/prices for your respective model year.

If anyone has any questions, please call the office at 260-407-5455, drop us an email at info@dtepowertrain.com or you may refer to any of our qualified network of installers and dealers that can assist you also.

Thanks gents and have a GREAT day!!

Best Regards,
-Phil

mines hasn't gotten here yet, can I get the discount? The FedEx guy needed a signature and I haven't been home. I'll even send a brand new z06 output shaft. I don't need it now.

Hey Phil,

I realize this is not warranty but I am just looking at my options. I bought a used DTE 3.90 rear on this forum from a guy in Kansas City. He said it developed a whine at 4500 miles. Any suggestions and what are my options? I bought it as an intended backup/spare.

Thanks,
Verne

What exactly causes a rear to whine. I know it deals with ring and pinion alignment but, what phenomenon produces the whine?

Thanks

If it's your back-up differential, then send it this way and we'll take a look at it to see what it needs to freshen it back up for you, as I'm sure the associated costs are minimal compared to a new unit. What is the serial number stamped on the case and on aluminum DTE tag we rivet on the case itself?

It may be an old one and mileage doesn't really matter on a differential that often takes a beating it's whole life when coupled with higher power applications, because we've seen differential cores come in here with very little miles on them, but we're absolutely BEAT TO DEATH, burnt black oil, cracked parts, etc., which made the differential look as if were 100 years old!! That's why we use thermal crack detection processes now to weed out the bad cores from EVER getting used again in the field. It's very effective...

The causes are endless and this post would be a mile long if I wrote everything out, but the biggest cause of pre-mature differential failures we've observed over the last 8 years is the lack of lubricant changes. Folks often think since it's "out-of-sight, it's out-of-mind" and neglect it... Most differential cores we get in here have the oil burned black from oil change neglect. Poor lil' diffy...

That differential is VERY old- at least 6 years, because we began riveting our own name plate on the differentials beginning in late 2003 and serial numbering them at that time also. That unit may have even been built before we first pioneered the application of cryogenics to the gear set, that has become an industry standard that everyone follows now.

There has been A LOT of technology and improvements implemented in the blueprinting process since that unit was built 6 years ago.

Hope that helps.

Phil,

Can you PM me a price to freshen that diff up to date? Looking for recommendations & costs. I have an 03 Z that puts out 450 rwhp and see the drag strip couple times a year!
