Default Going from 2.73 to 3.42

Every thing will bolt right in, but you will have to have your transmission shift points reset and the gear change set up in the computer. If you don't you will get a code P1870 ( transmission slip ) because the computer checks engine and output shaft speed when you are in 4th gear and the converter is locked. It will be thinking that the engine should be spinning slower cause it is programed for a 2.73. It interpets the extra engine speed as torque converter slip and sets the code P1870. Then the shifts get real ugly. It also inhibits the torque converter from locking again. You have to reprogram, I did mine with a Predater.

If you are dropping everything to do the gears then do a new high stall converter at the same time. You'll be glad you did.
