I have been driving my Corvette since Friday and I noticed something strange.
When starting from 1st gear, you can hear a strange "grinding" noise coming from under the shifter. However it does not sound like a transmission related problem. It will make this sound for 1 - 2 seconds and will disappear. It only does it from start. No vibration during acceleration or problems shift/gears slipping.

Any thoughts?
Just about all manuals, C5 and C6 make a noise on launch. It has to do with the clutch springs and propshaft resenance. You may have something different. Is your noise something new, or has it been there and you just notice it?
its hard to say. Only had the car for 3 days. I drive with the music fairly loud. So id guess it was always their.
I did some searching online and supposely these cars give off a bunch of various noises and sounds that scare owners to death. Ill have one of my techs look at it tomorrow.

I believe the video that comes with the car also touches on the subject.
