Was checking the fuses for the rearview mirror and vanity lamps when I found
Fuse #2 - Monitored (inadvertent) Load Control (10 amp)
blown.
Replaced it and ......zzzzzzzzzzzap ....blew again. One more fuse, same thing.
Benjamin Franklin's definition of insanity was "repeated action with an expected different outcome".....
No dealership analysis machine is going to figure this out. This is no different than tripping a circuit breaker in your home. You keep unplugging appliances on the circuit until it stops tripping.
I'd start from the top, since the underhood light connector is most susceptible to corrosion, and unplug it first. I would consider the BCM shorting a remote chance at best(unless it got wet). Keep unplugging/removing lights until it stops blowing the fuse.
Body Control Module....a nice silver box located to the left of the passenger footwell fusebox.....controls all kinds of good stuff.. If the carpet is wet down in the area from a leak, chances are, the BCM got wet too.

Ah, yes. Eh, dry as a bone in that area. I'll do a double double check. Thanks!
Looking at that diagram, any chance that a recent CLB install might be involved?
Shouldn't be, unless you put something back together wrong or knicked a wire.
You typically pull the knee bolster to install a CLB and pull a few fuses and swap out harness under the steering column to keep the pin energized so it does not lock the steering wheel.
By process of elimination, I'm down to the BCM being the culprit. Pulled bulbs one by one, disconnected the rearview mirror........still blowing fuses.
All other work is clean. Don't see any shorted out exposed wires.

Did you unplug the underhood light..not just the bulb? With the battery disconnected, I would unplug the BCM. If all the bulbs in the circuit have been removed, you should read an open for resistance relative to ground on the load side of the fuse. If you have a short to ground, you need to figure out where the short is in the wiring.

Excellent. Did just the bulb routine under the hood. Disconnect the rearview mirror.
