Default Tires that Hook ???

The tires on my vette do not hook at launch at all, looking to upgrade to a better tire for launch. I am considering 3 brands, tell me which hooks better than the other(s) from YOUR EXPERIENCE.
Street driven, street tires only, no track tires even if they are street approved - using 315/30ZR18's now, can't go bigger.

Please don't tell me you have brand XXX and they hook really good, I'm looking for your actual experienced COMPARISON.

How would you rank these:

Michelin PS2's
Goodyear GS-D3's
Nitto Invo's or any other Nitto

Thanks for helping

get a set of drag radials or if you want a killer tire thats not quite a drag tire but very close look into the Nitto NT05 I have them on my 97 Targa they're awesome. Dont expect alot of miles out of them though. It dont sound like your concerned with mileage. Good Luck!

i just have intake exhaust and a tune, and my old nitto 555s I could blow off in first and as long as i kept on the throtle could continue through second and some of third, I cant break my new nittos invos loose at all even in first unless i rev it up and drop the clutch, and it still just spins them for a few seconds and then hooks

Were the 555's old (rubber hard)?

I would guess about 350 RWHP?

What size Invo's?

yea the 555s were 9 years old lol, i had no idea when I bought the car, but the nitto invos are factory sizes, 275/40/18 and 245/45/17

Im around 325 rwhp, but I dont break loose at all mashing it at any speed in first, can spin them a little but with a hard launch but them grip quickly

I considered the nt05 but these ended up being great for me, my mind might change once I get h/c/i though

Yokohama ADVAN Neova AD07 in the 295 size would be close to the best. Great all around tire for auto-x and drag racing short of a drag radial. National champion in STU SCCA class used these two years ago.

Eitherway both are great tires. I ended up going with 295 on the rear and 285 up front. I should've went with 295 all the way aroung

I fit 325-30/19 Nitto Invos on the rear, and no they don't hold 475+RWHP, but they're a damn sight better than the Michelin PS's that they replaced.

Of the three listed I think the Invos would be the best.

If you put 325s+ of any brand out back, it'll grip.

Tell me more about the differences between the two, I'm running 315/30ZR18's PS2's now (new tires, 4k miles)

Also, can you fit that size (325-30/19 Nitto Invos) on a C5 without modifications or spacers and do they stick out much?? Whose wheels???

I just put on some 235/30/ZR19 Exclaims on my C5.

No spacers.

Ain't happening, I'm close to that size now with 315/30 PS2's and burn rubber all the way through 1st then well into second (with an A4 / 3:15 rear /stock stall and with traction control ON)

Is that a typo "235/30/ZR19"? 235?

Thanks, I'll probably try 325's next when I figure out the best tire for traction, the PS2's don't make it (traction wise). I guess I'll have to go aftermarket on wheels, using C5-Z06 wheels now. What brand/model are yours?

Sounds like the Nitto Invo's are the best of the three, anyone have different experiences?

i like my invo's a LOT. handle great, great in the rain, and hookup surprising well. its not a drag radial, but they are awesome for doing other stuff well too.

New tires grip, older tires with many launches or heat cycles wont grip as will if at all.

Good Luck
