harmonic balancer

harmonic balancer
98 vette, the harmonic balancer has slipped back and is rubbing on the engine block just the outer part of the balancer that the belt rides on has anybody had this problem ? is there a way I can I fix this and /or what will I have to remove to replace it, thanks

yep had that problem before. Had to replace it. This is the only option. need to pull the rack and pinion to get it off. At the time I could not find the balancer anywhere at a dealer and found plenty at auto parts store.

I bought a new oem unit off the forum and had it installed.
many have mentioned that it's a good time to consider doing a cam install as you're 3/4 of the way there at this point.
