Default LS6 vs FAST intake Swap

Evening,

Say I was wondering if anyone knew how many pony's I'd pick up if I swapped my Stock LS6 intake for a new 92mm Fast intake,

Or would that be just a waste or money ?

Also if you have any better ideas feel free to post them.

Thanks I appreciate it

You really need supporting mods to take full advantage of a FAST intake: heads, cam, headers.

LT's, heads and a cam first...otherwise you're just wasting your money. The stock LS6 intake is capable of outflowing the stock LS6 heads (unmodified). The intake is not the bottleneck on a stock set up.

You need to add some DEEP BREATHING MODS to take advantage of the FAST Intake. Other wise,,you will NOT gain that much. Heads and cam!!

Intakes are like other parts. Many times when added piece meal or one at a time, there are little if any gains.

But when every thing is added, from CAI though to exhausts, PLUS a great tune then it will come to life

Go to the TPIS web site and look at the dyno tests done with a variety of tb's and intakes. Even with the mods to their engine, a LS1 tb and an LS6 intake were not far behind the 90mm tn and a FAST. I wouldn't spend the money for a FAST until I had massive mods completed. Or, port and polish the LS6 and be happy.

I have a TPIS 78mm ported tb on a polished* but not ported LS6 intake. I am very happy.

the TPIS oval TB on a LS6 intake does VERY VERY well.

* smoothed out the ruff edges, but do not enlarge the runners
