Default Won't start B2723

This morning i got up and cleared the codes from the car in the hopes of troubleshooting a different issue with ABS/TC/AH. Drove it to work completely fine, but when i went out to leave for lunch the car doesn't start! Code came back as B2723 current. I did some research here on the tech board in the hopes of finding a fix and have already tried cleaning the VATS connection on the key and also tried my 2 backup keys and it does the same with all 3 even if you wait for the full 3 min in between trying each one.

I'm hoping somebody can point me in the direction of a DIY fix for this...i can't have my daily driver out of commission for very long.

Am i looking at replacing the entire Ignition lock cylinder as my next step? GM parts house has them for $93.05.

Appreciate any help/input as always.

thanks,
-Dustin

The part that you need is the key resistor sensor thats located on the FRONT of the switch/cylinder assy. The cylinder doesnt detect or measuer the resistor.

If that part doesnt come with what your ordering, your wasting your time and money. If I were you,,I would un-plug the sensor from the harness and read the sensor connector pins with the key inserted and see if you get the correct resistance at the connector.

If you dont, I would read the resistor with an OHM Meter, get a resistor that matches the key resistor and install it in the connector that plugs into the harness that goes to the BCM. If that proves to be the issue,,,It will work until you can find that sensor.

Doesn't even attempt to crank. Acts like a dead battery...but with all the accessories on and functioning.

That sounds difficult...i'm not very tech savvy when it comes to messaging resistance and soldering. If there was a step by step DIY with pics i could probably do it, but i'm too scared at this point.

Then you probably should not attempt it. Unfortunately, you'll either have to hook up with an experienced forum member, or have the car towed. Sorry..
