Default Voltage question

DO ANY OF YOU GUYS MONITOR THE VOLTAGE ON YOUR VETTE ? THE REASON I ASK IS THAT AFTER REPLACING THE BATTERY, (WITH A SEARS AGM) ON MY 2004 ZO6, I STARTED TO WATCH THE DIC CLOSELY. I READS "MOST OF THE TIME" 13.8 TO 14.2, AND I DON'T REMEMBER WHAT IT READ BEFORE THE BATTERY CHANGE, I THOUGHT IT WAS A LITTLE LOWER BUT NOT SURE. THANKS IN ADVANCE.

That voltage is about right. The reason it is a little over 12 volts is because the alternator is re-charging the battery. Don't worry, everything is fine.

FIRST OFF,,,,DON'T SHOUT!!!

Next,,,that DIC meter and IPC volt meter doesn't really read BATTERY VOLTAGE. It reads voltage in the circuit. That voltage goes thru the ignition switch.

Read the TRUE battery voltage at the battery terminals with the enging running and off, and compare it to the other meters in the car.

If you read the back of the alternator (BATT Terminal under the black rubber boot) with the engine running,, it may even be higher than the actual battery voltage (hopefully not by much) )

So,,,before you get really concerned, take a couple readings and report back the results.

I'LL CHECK IT AS SOON AS I CAN, BILL I ALSO INSTALLED THE RACETRONIX FUEL PUMP WIRING HARNESS THAT CONNECTS TO THE REAR OF THE ALTERNATOR TO FEED THE FUEL PUMP AFTER REMOVING THE MAGNAVOLT "BOOST A PUMP" THAT CAME WITH THE MAGGIE. I STARTED HAVING PROBLEMS WITH FUEL PRESSURE WHICH APPEARED TO BE AREATION WHEN BLEEDING FUEL FROM THE RAIL. HOW MUCH VOLTAGE IS ACCEPTABLE FOR THE 2003 1/2-UP FUEL PUMP ? THANKS FOR THE HELP.
