I sent my powerloader back to be reprogramed in October of last year(2001) and hear it is nearly March of 2002 and I am still waiting for it. I have called many times and I have yet to speak to Steve I have e.mailed TTS at least twice and I have not got a reply. I don't know about you guys but this is poor customer service. I wish I had used Ed Wright or the Vettedoctors to program my PCM.
Ed is the BEST forget the rest. Ed Wright is...Most knowledgable, generates most power and safely, most dependable, most courteous and very quick respose time. What the hell more could anyone want? Give John a call and tell him the recommendation is from Andy..ARE-427-ZO6.
I have seen programs from both of these guys and there is no doubt they know what they are doing. If you need it quick, I would go with Ed Wright.
The other way to do this is to find a shop with LS1 Edit and let them tune it. Our copy of LS1 Edit should be here Saturday. Anyone want a tune, I think we are going to have a little tune fest this saturday. We already have around 7-8 cars comming for a tune(if the delivery does not shaft us...).
I am like a little kid on Christmas Eve right now! I am not sure I will be able to sleep tonight. :) :)
Both programmers are very good and Ed Wright can get things turned around very quick. As an example I've overnighted a computer at 7:00pm on a Monday (one of the last boxes to go on the truck) and had it back by 10am on Wednesday (39 hour turn around! :) ).
LS1 Edit is another good way to go. Houston guys should take Chris up on his offer.

Re: Ed Wright or Steve Cole (Fast Frwrd)
I have Ed Wright and he gets my vote big time vs. Cole for the main reasons of awesome customer service, great knowledge and guaranteed quick turnaround. Blows aways the disappointment that many have suffered from regarding delays concerning delivery of product regarding the other alternative!
You are lucky since you live close to him. Your best bet is to drive your C5 to him and have him dyno tune your car. I've heared he can get 20+rwhp on s stock engine

I have heard that tuning while it is on the dyno is the key--that is when he can really fine tune to your needs.
My PCM was pulled and FED-EXed for a preliminary tune to allow SpeedWorks to test the injectors (thats when we got the 578rwhp) and then it was trailered to his shop for the final adjustments. Once there, the belts smoked and the car had to come back to SpeedWorks to fix the issue. It will get trailered again soon back to Ed's shop.
Anyone know how to find out where you are in line, so to speak, with Steve Cole and the PL2? Or do you just hang out and wait? Just curious.
There is no real line. I ordered the PL in July 01 & cancelled the order in Nov 01. During that period newer guys ordered it & received it in about 4 weeks while Iam still waiting :mad .
For anyone who is waiting for the PL, good luck
Only 2mos? My third month started on Feb.20th. Wish it would get delivered from Steve Cole, but what the heck, he is having medical problems. From what I understand, it will be worth the wait. Impatient, sure, but I feel certain I will be glad I waited and not cancelled. Give the guy a break. ;)
Definitely was just asking to know the process.....First dealings with this, so asking questions to understand.....no flames were intended and if you read my previous reply to this thread, I really do wish Steve well. I agree, give him a break, hence why I am asking the question to those that have been there here instead of ranting and raving as I have seen others do. Yes I am patient/impatient, just trying to decifer the information provided here.
I hear all the time that there is low customer satisfaction with the turnaround time with the Powerloader, but I have never had a problem at all. I sent mine out and got it back in 3 weeks and I know of a few others that have, too. Regardless of the wait, its is the top of the line product in my book. Nothing but the highest of praise for Cole's tuning...
Well guys 1st thing is I want to thank everybody for all the great information,
I sent Ls1 Edit an email, I recieved my answers with-in MINUTES it seems like Ls1 Edit will be available for the 2001/2002 Ls1/Ls6's the 1st of May (in about 2 months) from what I understand it seems pretty easy to tune yourself along with the Auto-Tap assisting you. The price is about $550.00 plus $100.00 for additional cars (yours, your buddys, whatever!!) and in my opinion its seems better than one program, then you can change your programming anytime you want, when you need it. With out Waiting months!! ( But then again I heard nothing bad with ED Wrights programming and may have to go there if I cant wait 2 months....
P.S. No flames intended on any of these products they seem like they all work well and do what we want... But, What is a man supposed to do, when he wants his mods installed when he gets them
Ok Guys, I started this thread and there was no intention of putting down Steve Cole. Bottom line, regardless of health/surgery issues, he has no contingency plan, no assistant to help. It's a business and you have to run it like a business or else you get very unhappy and dissatisfied customers. It seems like untouchable00 was one of the few lucky ones. What happens when you guys do get your PL and decide to buy a cam or head/cam package. Your back to square one on the waiting game. Why not pull your PCM while the car is in the shop getting the mod's installed and before you can say lickety split, Ed's already shipped it back to you. Also, please don't say that Steve is the ebst out there when you haven't tried any of the competition. Opinions are one thing facts are another. Don't forget Steve was my first choice because I got to drive the exact same car as mine with the exact same mod's but it was "loaded" and WOW, there was a big difference. Today I got to drive an Ed Wright tuned car and there was an incredible difference. When you factor Ed's turnaround time coupled with his customer service and knowledge, well there you have it. You don't have to be a rocket scientist. Even if I purchased LS1_Edit in a couple of months, I don't have the years of experience as a tuner so I could never get out of my car what Ed OR Steve could. Believe me, I had the LT1_edit software when I had my '95 C4 and the folks at Carputing are great but they are a very small shop and remind me of Steve. They are more afraid of someone "stealing their thunder" than of bad customer service. Just MHO.
