Been waiting since mid Nov for reprogram of PL for heads/cam done with Norris. Talked to Steve once and he responded to my email once. He is only working part days due to infection that he has gotton from surgery. He is a sick puppy and I sympathize with him, but as we said in the USMC...that don't feed the bulldog. I hope he recovers soon for his sake and for mine. About ready to pull PCM and send to ED. If I thought I would be profecient in using the LS1-edit, I would get that and do it myself. Either way, its going to cost $500. Someone who has done that LS1edit run a short course on the how to's of programming with it.
Around Christmas I sent email to both Ed Wright and Steve Cole asking some questions about programming my 99 (after reading as much as I could about both on this forum). I had Ed do a chip for my 93 and knew his work and service. Ed responded quickly; Steve never responded. I went with Ed Wright. I had a PCM shipped to him (extra $150), he programmed it and sent it to me. I swapped the PCMs (minor PITA because of location in car) and kept the stock PCM if I want to get back to stock. So, quick turnaround and the car was down only for the time it took to swap PCMs. Had my new PCM from ED Wright in a couple of days after ordering it. I am very happy with it. I have not had a chance to drive a PL car, so can't comment on a direct comparison.
Why not pull your PCM while the car is in the shop getting the mod's installed and before you can say lickety split, Ed's already shipped it back to you.
That may definitely be the most expedient mail order option. The down side is that you lose your programming should your PCM be reflashed, say when it's at the dealer for some warranty service. Admittedly, that may be of secondary concern to those simply trying to get programmed in the first place, but it's worth remembering.
For folks that are looking at programming alternatives as "either or" propositions... Clearly LS1-Edit is the most flexible programming solution. You get to do it whenever you want for whatever reason you want. It's under your control. OTOH, it may not be the best tuning solution depending on who you are. If you're in the "inexperienced tuner" camp you might consider buying that first round of PCM tuning and thinking of it as buying (the results of somebody else's) experience as opposed to tuning. Just a thought...

Yes, be careful when you go to the dealer. I've been twice since the programming. I remind them very strongly. " DON'T TOUCH THE COMPUTER.
