ASR troubles
hi all
a friend of mine owns a C5, 1G1YY32G2W5109118, and it gives him some troubles..
sometimes, when he is driving, ASR and check engine light come on, engine have only reduced power...
then he shuts off the car, restart again, check engine and ASR lights are off...engine have power again
Display give him "check ASR"
the fault codes are
P1125
P1516
P1120
P1220
can you give us a tip?

All those DTCs are Throttle Position System (TPS)related. Thats whats causing the REDUCED POWER PROBLEM.
The TPS consist of the following items.
PCM
TAC Module
Throttle Position Sensor
Accelerator Pedal Position Sensor
Wiring Harnesses and connectors
Throttle Valve Motor
Start by checking all the connectors and make sure that there properly connected and the wiring is not damaged.
TAC Module in passenger fender (black Box on outside of PCM)
Theres a wiring harness that runs down the drivers side of the engine along the fuel rail. It drops down the back of the engine. Right where it drops down, it turns around a bracket. That bracket has been known to cut the wires and cause this problem. Check that harness for damage.
Start there and see what you find.
