I had the crazy idea of taking my convertable and trying to see if it is possible to remove the vert top, and the hatch and replace it with a fixed roof coupe top commonly found on the c5 z06. As far as I can tell, the body structure would support such an idea, and now i am wondering if anyone has tried this yet? I can see the only problem being trying to fabricate the front windshield frame to work on the FRC top as it does with the vert top. All in all, I'd like to take my vert top off for the winter months and replace it with a FRC top. Can this be done?
Its worth the investment for a removable top from the above website..rag tops leak, people can knife there way into your ride (happened to my friends with their jeep soft tops, stereos/subs gone..) and soft tops rot and fade way to fast..i read somewhere convertable vets are on average 3k more than targa's/ frc's.. LMFAO rip off..
Sell your vert, buy a FRC, pocket a few grand in the process.
Sell what you have and buy what you want...Cars are so damn cheap right now it wouldnt be worth it to dump money into a custom top job vs just buying one but hey its your money.....
Thanks a lot guys, since this is my first vette and I've always wanted one since I was 5 yrs old, I can't part with it. Besides, I'd rather have the best of both worlds, vert during summer, hard top during winter. Can't beat that in my opinion. This site is the best!!

Good choice... start saving! I've still got my first Vette (and my second one too!)
