A friend of mine in Fla. wants to put regular shocks on his Z 51 suspension 2002 vette. What has to be done with the wiring-I have read that a resistor has to be installed. Can some one educate me on what needs to be done? TIA
WAIT a dog gone minute. You probably mean that he has a F-45 (real time dampening) Z-51 is NOT the variable dampening shock Option.
If he has the F-45 option,,,,,,,,,,YES,,,,,,,,,you can disconnect the wiring to the shocks and install a high wattage resistor in the circuit to simulate the coil in the shock.
The BEST shocks to replace the POS F-45 shocks is the C6 ZO6 shocks. There $245 NEW for all four shocks and bolt right in.
