Hi all,
I got to wondering after reading posts about repair costs at dealers and such. What if you took the cost of all parts, material, labor time and anything else charged on repairs to build a new car from the ground up and added them all up. How much would it cost? More than a brand new car? I would guess probably, especially with the quotes some people are getting from people on here. Can a mock workup like this be done somehow? I'd love to see the results. Of course, it would vary from the honest one's to the not so honest one's in their total figures, I'm sure. It's really getting outta hand! Just a thought.
Re: Hypothetical question about repairs (Blackjetvette97)
If you were to piece together a c5 at GM prices, no doubt it will be much more than buying a new one. As for how much more I don't know nor care to calculate. I remember reading an article a few years back about this issue, only they used a ford explorer. The total pieced together SUV was well over 150,000 as compared to the 30,000 tag. God Bless the extended warranty and insurance! :blueangel:
