Winter Storage - Down Side to Using Jack Stands?
I’m planning to jack stand my Corvette for winter storage. This will allow me to work on it during the cold months.
Are there any down sides or risk of damage to the suspension system doing this? Things that come to mind are the shocks being extended or bushings taking a set.

Should not be any issues. If you are worried about shocks and bushings, then place the stands under the control arms. The tires would flat spot quicker than you would have issues with the bushings.
When I was up North I would always put the car on stands during the winter and never ran into any issues.

I've been doing it that way every winter since I bought my car in 2003.
Never any issues yet.

I could understand that fire might be a concern for some, not much of one for me. My garage is detached and I carry storage insurance which would cover for fire damage. It would be a bummer for sure, but I wouldn't worry to much about it.
Thanks for the input!
