Default c6 z06 output shafts

I am going to buy a complete rear end from DTE or RPM. It looks like I broke one of the shafts last weekend, and I would rather just buy a complete built rear end with a new gear.

I have noticed that both the DTE and RPM stage 2 kits come with the c6z06 output shafts. Are these strong enough to handle launches with drag radials with 425rwhp? How much stronger are they over the c5 z06 shafts?

You're on your own with wheel hop, but there's an article in one of my magazines with a 10 sec C5 with only 4.10's and a C6 output shaft (I forget which side, it's the long side)

If you're going buy a built differential, look into installing a tranny brace.

I got a much better differential for sale that'll cost you the same as the ones you're looking at.

This way if you make more power etc... you ain't going to have to buy another one or spend big bucks doing it over.

No hardened output shaft or C6Z06 output shaft will handle wheel hop.
At your power level the stock ones should hold fine W/O wheel hop.
If per chance you get your axle shafts to hold the next thing that will break may very well your trans output shaft.

Here is the difference between the 2 shafts. GM part # 89060119 and lists for $69 compared to $300 plus for 300M hardened output shafts.

done Thanks for the taking care of me. See you guys when the rear end comes in. Thanks!

Thanks for the replies guys. I don't think wheel hop broke my car, if you have seen the video. The initial hit from my spec 3 clutch did the job, as far as I can tell.
