The brake pads are the only difference. If you want to "upgrade" your brakes get HAWK HPS pads, they dust way less than ZO6 pads (even less than regular C5 pads) and stop better.
What are the differences between the C5 and C6 calipers (if any)?
And will they interchange?
Thanks,
Plasticman
The C6 base and Z51 Calipers are stiffer than the C5. Its almost exactly the same caliper, just a stiffer backbone to prevent pad taper that is so prevelant on the C5's under extreme braking (i.e. Track conditions). These calipers will bolt right up to a C5 with no changes required.
Regarding rotors - the C6 base rotor is the same size as the C5 rotor. The C6 Z51 rotor is bigger and I think to use it on a C5 requires a different caliper mounting bracket.
The C6 Z06 Caliper and rotors are a whole different animal.

It's always funny when people brag about having upgraded to C5 Z06 brakes on their LS1 Vette I guess the red colour reduces braking distance by 25% It did on mine Indy
So I can run C6 z51 rotors front and rear with my stock 00 calipers and only need to swap out brackets to make them fit? Where do I get these brackets?
NO DIFFERENCE I painted mine red using Duplicolor caliper paint and they look great
When doing the brakes about 4 or 5 years ago I thoroughly cleaned the calipers with brake cleaner and a small brush and then used Duplicolor red caliper paint on them. Coated them about 4 times as the first coat or two showed some undersurface. I finished the front ones with some white touch up paint to show the corvette logo. They look as good five years later and cost me only about $14 to do. Still have enough paint to do about 4 or 6 more. Powder coat it you are RICH. Duplicolor if you want good looks and low cost.
