$$$ pricing differences.....hmmmm
shopping around for a new 110 amp valeo alternator, yep french made stuff on our vettes came stock. Anyhow, i have not checked with a dealership to see what their price would be but...
GM part # 10316182, 110 amp, generator/alternator:
GMpartshouse.com lists it as this
escription Qty MSRP Price Your Price Core Price Total Cost Mechanical Catalog - Chevrolet/Geo
Alternator Alternator, corvette 1997 - 2000 $622.86 $404.50 $0.00 $404.50
Total: $404.50
then AC Delco.com lists their as this:
GENERATOR ASM
Part Number: 10316182
Product Notes:
[Generator]; 110 Amp Gen (K63) ; Valeo ir & if ; 110 amps
Per Vehicle:1; Years: 1997-2002

any thoughts on this one?
thanks everyone,
Sully
I would be very leery if someone quoted me $50 to rebuild a Valeo alternator for our cars, they are not like other alts. Just disassembling and reassembling them is a lot more work that a standard alt. There are 3 large wires that must be desoldered to dissassemble, you can't cut them they must be desoldered, then resoldered when assembling. Even $50 plus parts would be a good deal.
