I got a window that's starting to slow going back up. I have done a search about this here and it would seem as if the motor/regular will need replacement soon. Does anyone have a good DIY procedure for this replacement? I would think that there maybe one or two tricks to it to insure proper window operation after the motor is replaced. And maybe more importantly some "don't dos" while performing this task.
There are some posts with pictures on how to remove the door panel and replace the window regulator.
You will be better off to just replace the regulator assembly instead of trying to just change the motor. You can change the motor and get the drive cables back on the spool in the gearbox, but it is difficult if you have not done it before.
If your window is getting slow, you might look into the door to see if the drive cables are frayed.
Normally, the motor just sticks without warning.
