Doesn't a crank with a throw that long pull the piston skirt out of the bore? I know on LS1 and LS6 blocks a 4" crank is cutting it extremely close...

I think the LS3 block has longer skirts.

The piston is shorter for this combination. For this NA application, it works great to achieve big cubes.

That will all depend on the top half of the motor.

Seth, is there another option to keep the LB option around 7k?

ie: L92 heads?

With WCCH L92 Heads, GM LS3 Rocker Arms (Intake), and GM LS3 Rocker Stands, you'll save $963.50.

Just for some info on K1, they are the Chinese brand of carillo (one of the nicest racing rods out there). Much like compstar is the Chinese brand of Callies. The parts I have seen from them are very nice, and much better than eagle/scat, at least as far as machine work and consistency goes.

The heads will be very good, but is there a down side to the GM LS3 Rocker Arms (Intake), and GM LS3 Rocker Stands on your build

Yup Compstar = Offshore

Dragonslayer = U.S.
Magnum = U.S.

That's why I chose their Dragonslayer crank, but that's just me.

They will work, but not make as much power.

The upgrade would be to switch to Yella Terra Roller Rocker Arms for reduced friction and wear.

It will work, you'll just have a much smaller displacement.

All of the Callies components are available through us as well.

How many teeth on the crank reluctor on this engine? Just wondering about installing one of these in my '03 base C-5? Thank you.

LS3 Block vs. LS7 Block
The LS3 Block is $1,142 cheaper than the LS7 Block.

LS3 427 Shortblock vs. Stock LS7 Shortblock
The LS3 Block is $1,142 cheaper than the LS7 Block. The longer stroke makes more torque. The forged internals will handle a higher power capacity.

So the pistons are forged?
