fuel pump/filter help PLEASE!

fuel pump/filter help PLEASE!
I searched the forums and called a couple different shops for help but didn't really get the answers I was looking for...
I have an 04 Z06, and after a cam and long tube install, found that I was losing fuel pressure on the dyno. Tuner is pretty sure it's the fuel filter.
Since replacing the filter is such a big job, I figured I'd replace the stock fuel pump with something that flowed a little more.... so my questions;
can I even replace the stock fuel filter or do I need to replace the entire assembly?
where can i get a new fuel filter?
what kind of pup should I get, and what else do I need?
I'd REALLY appreciate some help or suggestions.

I think the '04's, the filter is part of the tank internals rather than the earlier C-5's where its external. Other than opening it up, you might try some techron or some seafoam and see if it'll clear things up.
