Default 505a's What size?????

I'm going to be purchasing a set of CCW 505's for my 04' within the next month here but have a few questions. I know that a lot of people are running 19" all around but does this have any clearance issues and will I need to recalibrate my speedo? Zip Corvette's as well as almost everyone else sells 19x10"/19x11" and they also sell a set that is
19x10"/20x11". I was also on WCC's website, here is the link. http://westcoastcorvette.com/p-2867-...tyle-505a.aspx

As you can see, WCC doesn't list a complete 19" package for front and rear and ALL of their front combos are 9.5" and NOT 10" is this because of a clearance issue? They also list up to a 11.5" package for the rear but they list 18" up front. The only way to get a 19" up front from them is in a 9.5" wide and I would have to go to a 20x11" in the rear. As you can see, I have no clue as to where to turn so I figure who better to ask the YOU the Pros The car will most likely be wrapped with Nitto Invos of some Pilots. I was also wondering who, if anyone has had theirs chrome dipped and where and how much was it? I live in Chicago so the roads are different and have a LOT more holes, speed bumbs, etc. then places like Florida, Arizona, and California so will that have an effect on the tire sizes and if they will rub? Any help, info, etc would be GREATLY Appreciated!!!! I'm going CRAZY over here and don't know which ones to get other then they will be 505's and they will be chromed.

I have CCW 505a's in 19x10 fronts and 19x11.5 rears...technically I bought them used (the rims & tires had 500 miles on them) so I didn't order them directly, but I don't see why you couldn't order them in the sizes you want... BTW, the 11.5" rears have 305's on them and there are no rubbing issues...

HiVoltage could you post some pictures front and rear shots of your wheels and tires on your car. I would like to see how this looks. I will be getting new wheels and tires for my vette before next spring and really am up in the air as to what to buy.

Thanks!!

I bought my 505A's from ZIP also. I have the same ones your talking about. I LOVE my 505's!! They came with Prellies. 305 on the rear and 295 on front. They were some of the WORST tires traction wise that Ive ever owned!

I have TOYO's on them now. I'm running 315 on the rear without ANY issues!!

The TOYO tires are the BEST street traction tires that Ive owned so far!

Those 505's are some rugged rims. I put them thru HELL and they keep on rolling!

Make sure you research your tire sizes BEFORE you purchase.

See my post about that here:
http://forums.corvetteforum.com/c5-g...ah-issues.html

I went with the 19/19 CCW Combo because I really like the look.

Remember its NOT the rim size that will effect your speedo or traction control.... its your TIRE sizes that effect your speedo and traction control. See my above post and you will understand.

Ok. I am an idiot and dont think I'm doing this right. The stock tires on an 04' C5 are 245/45/17 in the front and 275/40/18 in the rear. If I go with a 19x10" in the front and a 19x11" in the rear what size tires would I have to go with to get it as close to stock as to not screw with the active handling and traction control? Zip's website says to run 275/30/19 up front and 305/30/19 in the rear. Is this correct or are there other sizes that I can run? I know that the width of it really shouldn't matter, but rather the profile for these. Can I run 35's, 40's, 45's, etc. ?

I'm running 275/30/19 up front and 305/30/19 in the rear ... many others are also with no issues.

If you are concerned about potholes and rough roads, you might want to consider 18" all around or an 18"/19" combo. This will give you a little more sidewall for more rough road apsorption and will still look very good.

My Son ran over a Curb at 30 MPH and bent ALL four CCW 505A rims.

They were ALL able to be repaired by a rim straightening company. There ALMOST bullit proof!

Bill, did the curb run out in front of the vette??

Ok, I really have an interest in this whole topic. Like others, I have no clue as to what will or will not work. My concern is wheel well clearance. Is there any worries about tire to wheel well contact? How about handling. Is there improvement? Performance hits?

Thanks guys!!!

I'd go with 18/19 if for no other reason than you can get Nitto Invo's in 19 inch in good sizes. Not so in 18 inch.
