I had my left front fender replaced on my 2001 because of a large crack on the bottom.
Now the gap between the new fender and hood is larger than the right side.
Body shop at dealership said there is no adjustment for fender. They said they can only move the hood over a little. Is this true? The gap between the headlights and hood are perfect now, and I don't want to move the hood.
My 02 new had a slight misalignment. There are screws along the top of the fender, right where the hood is that can be loosened. Then, open the door and look down near the computer and you will see another screw. Remove the computer access panel and reach in to get this one. I didn't investigate up forward, but I am sure there are more screws. I was able to move the fender more then enough to correct my mis-alignment. You can't move it inches, but you can probably fix your problem. Dealer sound like they don't want to take the time to properly adjust the fender. Let's face it, they are not going to mass produce a car with such tight tolerances that they can't do some final adjustment on the assembly line. Dealer is full of it. My $0.02 :yesnod:
I wouldn't touch it. I would take it back to them and tell them to fix it right and that they aren't going to charge you for fixing it wrong in the first place. If they refuse have your laywer call them. I would also suggest going straight to the manager. If you try to adjust it they may try to say that you messed it up and then you are screwed if you can't get it how you want it
