Default Bent wheel... can it be fixed??

I have 2 factory thin spokes that are bent on the inside bead. One of them was so bad that the tire store said they couldn't balance it. I heard from someone (can't remember who) that bent wheels can be "trued"... but I don't know if this is true, if it would weaken the wheel too much, or where I could get this done. Anyone know anything about this? I am in Central Florida if anyone knows of anyone that does this (if it's possible).

In the back pages of many car magazines, there are usually several ads for shops that repair bent aluminum wheels.

I just did a GOOGLE search using keywords "repair bent aluminum wheels" and came up with numerous pages of hits...

Yea... I was going to do a Google search but I thought I would get some unbiased input before I go looking for someone who does it. I could see that it may be ok to straighten a wheel on a passenger car that never sees speeds past 75 mph... but 100+ mph I start to wonder.

It's totally amazing what a good wheel shop can do fixing rims that you would think are ruined! There is a shop in OKC that repaired my i-Forged Swifts. They did a great job for a reasonable price.

My son ran over a curb at 30 mph and bent all four of my CCW 505A rims. I googled wheel repair chops in CT and it spit out 6 shops. I called the chop and they said bring the wheels in and they would determine if they could be repaired and how much it would be. $600 later they were all straight and polished.

Yes they can be fixed.

Both repairs mentioned in the previous posts, were on forged wheels.
If done correctly, I don't see a problem with that. Cast wheels, I'm not so sure I would be as comfortable.

CCW 550As were repaired with out issue. There forged not CAST wheels. A good wheel shop will steer you in the correct direction. They can repair BOTH wheels. Inquire at the local shop if the repair can be made.

Around here, there are TONS of places that specialize in truing wheels again and finishing them almost perfectly. It may cost you a pretty penny, but usually not as much as new wheel.

Case in point, there are places that fix them. I can't give you an accurate quote tho...you'll have to check it out.

Had all my c4 wheels done in Miami and they came back looking like new. Cost about 130/wheel. Finish was bad and had some curb rash and a dent or two from the prior owner.
