Default A/C Problems

I turn my A/c on and alls I get is hot air. I checked codes. Im getting BO 361, BO 441, and BO 446. They are all history codes, So whats up? Why is it blowing hot air from all the vents? And yes I did turn my control down to 60 degrees. Does it sound like my hvac programmer is shot? Ive tried clearing them but they keep coming back as histoy. Ive even unhooked the battery and let sit for 20 mins. Same results. Please help........ Thanks in advance.....

perhaps you need to recharge the system? You can get a recharge kit at Walmart for pretty cheap. open the hood and turn the system on and listen and look to see if the AC compressor is even turning on. if it is then try the recharge

Default could be this...

A faulty outside air temp sensor?

GM Part # 10248414 is aprox. $10 from the dealer and just plugs in.

The sensor is located on the right (passenger) side of the car, on the outside of the frame rail in the very front by the headlight.

It is held onto the mounting hole on the frame by a plastic push-in clip.

Just pull the clip out of the hole on the frame, release the plug for the wire (the plug has a release clip, pry up on the clip and the plug will release).

Then just put in the new one and you will be in business - it takes a few minutes of driving for the sensor to start reading the outside temp - you have to be moving.

The sensors are either resistance temperature detectors (RTD's) or Thermistors. The resistance of the sensor changes with the temperature.
If you have any corrosion in any of the associated connectors it will increase the resistance that the climate controls is reading.
The resistance across the two sensor wires could be almost infinity,
in that case your display would read a low temp.

Once the old sensor is removed, the HVAC defaults to 69* and will let the AC turn on.

Okay, I got two of the codes to clear and stay cleared. I still get BO446 as a history code and it still blows warm air out of passenger side. What I dont get, is if its a history code it should have cleared itself and be operational. If thats not the case it seems that the actuator is at fault. Ive never had this problem with passenger side on a battery change. I have always had it with the drivers side but a code reset has always cured it. Is it possible that its not the actuator and the HVAC control itself? I dont have the time to tear out the whole dash to change this out and I imagine the dealer would want an arm and a leg to do it. And since they never have done anything right the first time id end up having to do it myself anyway. Bill Curlee can you shine any light on this for me. Thanks in advance
