Default Still Having Elctrical problems , HELP

The Saga goes on. New Battery a week ago 3 days later dead. Recharge check everthing out as told in earlier thread after 20 mins amp drain was 002. Drive car for three days not a single problem. Come home from work tonight go to start it not enough juice to turn it over and things start going f%^&&^% n crazy. Noises from the passenger seat. Turn the key off and still the noise continues sounds like the lumbar. Get battery unhooked. Rehook battery noise in seat gone after removing lumbar fuse. Okay cool put key in and turn it over battery to dead to start anything. Turn key off door dinger going on and off and security light flashing, pull key ot close door and they keep dinging and flashing what the hell is up. Unhooked battery and dinging and flashing stopped. I have battery charging now. This is the first problem Ive had with this car and it will be the last if I cant get figured out with some help from you guys. Im ready to take a sledge hammer to it.....

You need to explain that better.

Check the connections at the solenoid for cleanliness and tightness. Pay attention to any wire insulation that might be burned looking. Do not forget that it's all electrically hot down there so be careful. When you get it started, put a meter across the battery and see what the voltage is. You should see somewhere between 13.8 and 14.1. If lower for any reason, check all battery, alternator connections and of course the previously mentioned solenoid connection as that is where all of the electrical distribution comes together.

If your seeing 0.020 amps,,,,,something stayed ON and killed the battery.

The most problematic current gobblers are:

Stuck seat multifunction switch
Bose Amp relay
RAP Relay failure
Interior lights

Don't know the best way to troubleshoot a sporadic problem like this one.

On that one:

Adjust seat to where you like it and then disconnect to electrical plug under the seat for several days. See if the problem continues.

Note: the C5 uses multiple (6) relays to actuate the three electric motors for seat adjustment. In the past, there have been postings here as to a relay (or two) sticking/malfunctioning and causing excessive current drain. Remember: the power to the seat controls is constant and does not shut off just because the ignition key is turned off.

P.S. The C6 seat control system was redesigned and does NOT use relays to control the seat motors. The switch on the side of the seat directly controls the electric motors and eliminates the use of relays. The switch was designed to handle higher current levels and the circuit breaker was upgraded from a 30A to a 35A. A much better (reliable), more direct design in my opinion.

100% on target! Excellent info!

If the problem is sporatic,,,I would lean towards the seat being the issue.

Very common problem.

We have a winner... It was the passenger seat switch. Last night as I said all kinds of goofy noises from the passenger seat. Couldnt get it to sht off until I disconnected the battery. Charged battery to almost full charge. It fired right up tonight. Put the seat relays back in and the seats go forward and back words like there suppose to. Put the lumbar fuse back in and bingo just works on the driver side nothing on passenger side now. So It fried and its not even a year old. Bought it from Gene so hopfully hell replace it. Thanks for all the help guys . And yes it is on a battery tender, and will be from now on when its just sitting.....

GM only warranties their parts for 12 months. If you are under that, you are probably ok.
