I am trying to decide which product to use so I can apply before the car comes out of storage. Other than removability is there an advantage of ClearStatic over the 3M ScotchCal stuff? has anyone tried it? Just curious, I haven't used or seen either.
I'd be willing to try a set of these, but every time I see an ad for them it says "Not for the Z06". Are there plans to make a set for the front of the rear wheel openings for we Z06 owners?
360Lemans- We actually wind tunnel tested in a lab. I had them set it for 160mph. The film held on at 160 in dry and wet (simulating rain) conditions. In the real world we only heard from people (letters, fax’s email...) in the 120 area. Don't know off hand of anyone cruising around at those speeds
C5LOU- The reason #64 states "not for Z06" is because it includes a pair of protectors that go in front of the rear wheels (kit#18) and because of the brake duck it obviously won't fit.
Kit #46 fits the C5 (Z06) beautifully
BStewart- Great speaking with you too sir! Thanks,

Thanks.
I looked at these. Two problems I saw. First, when you remove you have residue (glue) left on the car. I have removed window tint before, and if it's anything like that I don't want it on my paint. I e-mailed several who sell it, but none ever got back to me. Second, the installation has to be perfect, first time or you get bubbles that can't be removed. It also has to be professionally installed, and there are horror stories about that out there.
With this stuff, if I screw it up I can remove and re-apply to my hearts content. Worst case is I'm out a few bucks but the paint is not damaged.
Chris,
Kit #46 fits the C5 (Z06) beautifully :D
Protects behind front and rear wheels (also painted area into the wheel wells) it just doesn't have the pieces that go in front of the rear wheels like kit #64.
Call me tomorrow if you need me:cheers:
