Default Mirror Settings Won't Keep in Memory

Anyone have this problem?
It seems that all my memory settings for stereo presets, seating position, steering wheel position etc. remain set into the memory, but I can't seem to retain the settings for my exterior mirrors. Everytime I start the car I have to set them again.
I though that these settings were part of the 'memory'!

The mirrors are part of the memory and should work as advertised.
Did you program them correctly?
Just press and hold the memory button ( 1 or 2 or 1+2) until the llights stop flashing and you should be OK.

Hope this helps

Roger - actually I did follow the manual instructions for setting up the memory, but as mentioned, everything stays put except the mirrors.

Kid - I think you an I know the frustartion!

At this point my feeling is, it's a minor annoyance, I want it fixed, but I'm afraid to bring it in to Chevy and risk having them mess it up further!

Your not alone! My 2002 coupe does it, sometimes.
But it never does it when I take it to the dealer though!
My 97 was so bad that I turned it off. Prolly had it into the dealer a dozen times. They'd fix this, then that. But nothing ever fix'd it completely.

Tim,

I'm not sure if you agree with my fears of the dealer or not, but it prolly doesn't matter at the end of the day! LOL

Don't have to explain! The local dealer here has scratched my car so many times. They just give me money now!
They've scratched it 4 times, drivers door sill, drivers door, left rear quarter panel, and my right mirror. Not counting the times they have tried to fix what they messed up.

Mine does the same thing, all my presets stay except for the mirrors, tried re-doing it 100 times, no luck  I also refuse to take mine to the dealer, as I know the first thing they would do, would be to rip off my front spoiler, so until someone knows what to do, I live with it :(

Same thing here, usually the pass. side mirror. I deal with it as I don't want the dealer to tear into it. If you find a fix, let us know.

Has anyone checked for a diagnostic procedure in the service manual for this? Wonder what is involved.
