I am very interested in this. I have a cam in my car already and looking to put a set of heads and intake on the car this year. Nice work so far. Keep up the good work!

Stuff some clean rags in the lifter areas. I found it very easy for little pieces to drop into the oil gallery for the lifters and think this is a reason so many end up with noisy lifters. Good luck with the remainder of the work.
PS: I found out about the stock castings the hard way as well, my hands were a mess for a couple of weeks.

HELL YEAH!!!! Thats a wicked important note to pay attention to. The gu that did my Heads and Cam re-used the stock bolt. well about 10,000 miles into it she started throwing belts and upon cloaser inspection I saw the pulley was backing out. so another 5 hours and I added a better Pulley with the 28 dollar ARP crank bolt. heated the pulley up to 275 degrees for about 35 to 40 min in the BBQ pulled it off unwrapped the tin foil and placed it on the crank end only about 3 min of tourquing the bolt down got me to 240lbs tq. Made the job very simple.

Summit Underdrive pulley No seal. It is one solid piece. Obviously if you are working with a balancer with a glue joint I would definetly look into the elbow grease method. But if it is the front seal you are talking about then there are no issues and as a matter of fact I am pretty sure that with some of your softest rubber compounds (like your cell phone key pad) that hold normal temperature ratings up to 250 degrees C. That 275 Degrees F will not damage the more rugged EDMP rubber used in automotive grade seals, bushings and gaskets. It worked without fail for me no funny smell after it was in place and no burnt front seal.

The instructions with the summit UD pulley says to heat it before installing.

WARNING!!!!!!! Make SURE that each head bolt hole in the block is DRY. If theres any fluid in the hole, when you torque them in place, the fluid will crack the block!!!!!!!!!!!
I used an air chuck with a long aluminum tube that fit down into each hole. You would NOT believe all the crap that comes out.
Use a good light to look into each hole and if you cant see the bottom of the hole, its NOT clean.
The top row of head bolts is a different torque than the rest of them.

My plans are for no change on stall converter, so this cam will be as high as I would go.
And no fly cutting of pistons

The 1.8 rocker arms are going to give you more than that for an end result lift. I have a 233-239 .595/.604 lift cam with 1.7 rocker arms. were I to go to the 1.8 I would have a .630-.640 lift. So you are actually looking at about .560-.572 lift (roughly). Honestly I would go with a more agressive cam were I you.

When I installed my Patroit Stage II heads, I de-bured all the sharp edges off of them and removed a lot of the cast flashing. The area around each sparkplug hole was like a razor blade
Now there nice and smooth and easy on the fingers.

Just an FYI: I found that my new heads were even more of a hazard. As I was tightening head bolts I would look down and see new blood... The heads cut so cleanly that I never even felt the skin being cut away!
As a stubborn wrench turner, I pressed forward without gloves and continued to remove more skin...
