Default Power seat question

I have a '99 coupe with two 6 way power seats. The driver seat moves up and back OK. The lumbar adjust doesn't have any affect. I hear something like a motor when I hit he button but then nothing. The passenger lumbar seems to work OK. I hit the lumbar adjust and it changes. Any ideas what could be wrong?

The lumbar adjustment is via an electric air pump and a bladder. Often the bladder leaks, rendering it useless.

Replacement part is way to $$$$. A member did a post on fixing, use search.

Here is a guy that fixed his side bolsters with blood pressure cuffs, maybe you can use these in the lumbar?

I have a 99 with the same problem. The electric pumps work but they dont hold air.

Can you hear the pump whining when you press the lumbar switch or not? The switches have been known to fail as well. Most often it is a bladder leak.

You can pull the seat cover away with the seat still in the car and take a look

Often the failure is due to the plastic connectors in the air bladder pipes breaking rather than the bladder itself.

And of course fuses. It has been known for the motor to burn out and pop a fuse. Also check that the switch is working prperly. You'd probably need to pull the seat and check with a multi meter to check that out.
