Default Lifting the C5 without pi$$ing off the computer

OK I'm new to the C5 game. Last week I was able to get my 5 ton jack under the vet by driving it up on a couple blocks of wood first. Changed the oil. Let it back down, and when I started it back up the computer was all pissed. Went into some kind of mode, limiting the MPH and doing its 4 cylinder firing thing. Computer was telling me something about the suspension system. So I shut it off and started it back up and everything was fine.
Now back in the day when I was a mechanic, many of the caddies and the mach8 had a switch you had to hit before you lifted it. I have found no such thing for the VET.
Basically my question is: What's the jacking procedure for the car?????

When I change the oil, I drive the car up on a set of Rhino ramps, approx. $28 at Boys. I jack it up at the rear cross member by the gear, let the oil drain and lower it back down. No problems at all. When I put drag radial on the rear, I lift it at the same place changing both tires at the same time.

Do you have the adjustable suspension? I'm new too, but not sure why this would happen.

I use ramps to change my oil. I jacked the front corners up separately to put it on jack stands when doing my brakes a few weeks ago. Neither situation has ever created any problems with my F45 suspension.

Could you possibly have snagged the harness to one of the shocks and broken/disconnected it? That's the only thing I could think of that would upset the computer.

Sounds like the VATS was triggered. This can happen pretty easily if the PCM and BCM lose communication, say due to a low voltage condition. (Hood up for a while maybe? Radio on? Drop light connected to the battery?) The fact that it corrected itself almost immediately suggests this sort of thing. It's supposed to be okay between 9-16v but I've seen it flake out around 11.0v or so.

I posted another message about this, but I wonder if anyone here can explain how my Ride Control (1997) works..... What does it do and how does it work...
