Try bumping up the pressure on your rear tires.
Also, if you have room to play, once you start going with the tires spinning, cut the wheel hard. The car will do a 180 and you have a fun smoky standstill. People do this a lot when they fail at doing proper donuts.
BTW, if you want to kill your rear tires, Why not drift or do donuts? It's a lot more fun way to use that rubber IMO. But then again, a good burnout every now and then is a muscle car must.

Are you trying to do a brakestand and just still there and boil them?
I'm prone to drop the hammer from 3500rpm but I just do it for the car control practice. And it's fun.
