Door Control Module - More questions
I overhauled the vehicle`s grounding system in several places in the engine bay, with redunadant wiring to a double pole AGM battery. This did not cure this problem, although did improve the voltage dip under braking that was noticeable from the headlights.
The cure for the random codes being thrown was to remove the accordian sheathing from the driver side door and inspect the wiring at the harness connector. The serial comms bus bidirectional DATA wire was shorting out against the ground/chassis. This particular wire is not well insulated and has the potential to short out, blocking communications with several modules which it is shared with throughtout the vehicle. The fix was simply to insulate the wire at the connector and then insulate the entire bundle with electrical tape. The problem of random codes has never returned since.
