Ok i understand why you guys were all hyped up about it no big deal. I went back and looked at the crown and the crown was ripped up by snowplows before I hit it so maybe the loose chunks came up and hit my filter or got wedged in there somehow. the road being ripped up is why I didn't drive with one wheel on the crown and one off so I'd be on the highsides. I just put the new wheels and tires on so I would've hated to see a chunk of either of the two missing.

I plan to do that asap. I'm going to have an insurance adjuster come look at it first and one of my buddies dad's is a GM tech so he is going to look at it as soon as the stupid snow stops. He told me that from what he has heard from me it sounds like a rod bearing or something along the lines. I guess we'll see but no matter what is the problem I'll probably just do a 383 or 402/403 setup.

This is a good approach. Assess your damage first and proceed with your decisions. Good luck; maybe you'll get an extra 100 HP after all is said and done. Thanks for all the pics. Really shows what can happen.
