Reverse lock out not working.

Hi there,
First, be absolutly sure that the problem is with the reverse lockout. I had a similar problem when I first got my C5. Shifting into 5th would cause a grind. First I thought that it was just me then I thought that I was hitting reverse and after some research ,I ended up doing a shifter alignment-End of problem! Hope that this helps out..

I agree be careful. I think mine failed last nite and now I don't have a reverse gear.
I say this cause I was trying to find 5th going on the freeway it grinded so I didn't force it and eventully found it. Well, when I tried to leave the place I was at it couldn't reverse! The back up lights go on but all it does it grind and not move at all.
I'm not sure if I can replace one gear or do I need a whole new trans. I hope not on a whole trans.
