Default Low speed turn push?

I've noticed when making a low speed, full lock turn, It feels like the front end is pushing or sliding. Almost like I'm losing traction. I've inspected the front suspension, and everything seems fine. Any ideas on what might be the cause?

get better tires. also stiffer rear suspension if you feel you are getting too much understeer.

A little throttle and you can bring the rear around.

Weight is not transfering to the outside front corner. Could be
1. Sway bar in front too big
2. Spring in front too stiff (thats me)

I run my car with a little low speed push as I need the stiffness in the high speed transitions, but it will push at really low speeds and there's always that one turn.

If throttle alone doesn't rotate the beast, keep your foot on the gas and quickly hammer the brake with you left foot, driving the weight forward onto that outside wheel.....always works for me......old Porsche rotation technique.

Bills03Coupe:
Mine does the same thing. I noticed it while maneuvering in a parking lot that had loose gravel. Cranking hard and turning in tight quarters seemed like the car wanted to slide or push across the pavement. I attribute that to agressive caster in the suspension when turning full lock on the steering wheel...wheels are agressively leaning and riding on the edge of the tires.

Low speed push is normal for corvettes with stock alignments.

So dont turn that tight on close quarters.

Although [as noted in previous posts] this is normal to some degree, you might wish to check for proper rear end differential lube.
Bet if you did a search on here, i.e. "differential lube" or perhaps "friction modifiers" you will gain more insight on the subject.

Thanks to everyone for your replies. Information from a highly regarded C5 mechanic outlines what appears to be the problem. About 10,000 miles ago I changed my differential fluid using Redline 75W90 synthetic, that had the friction modifier already in it. It seemed to work, as the noise I was experiencing on low speed turns completely disappeared. The information I was given was to change it out to the new GM synthetic, P/N: 88862624. It has a totally different frictional package then aftermarket fluids, and will correct the problem. No additional friction modifier is needed. I plan on taking his advice and changing the fluid to the new GM product. Stay tuned!!
