Default Your oil pressure sensor just failed.

You (most likely) have oil pressure, but your oil pressure sending unit sensor has failed. There is a sticky at the top of this C5 Tech board which addresses the replacement.

http://forums.corvetteforum.com/c5-t...locate-14.html

It is located at the top of your cyl block back under the firewall and in behind the intake plenum.

Many options. I chose to relocate the sensor out from under the firewall with the 15 in steel braded hose. It's now located atop the engine along the fuel rail on the driver's side. But this option requires removing your intake plenum.

Go to page 14 of the sticky and look for post # 272 by "berryj". He lists all the parts required to make the change. I used the Buick sensor because it has the nat'l pipe thread vs the metric thread the C5 originally uses in the cyl block.

I also chose to replace the (AIR) air pump check valve located behind the intake plenum as well.

Turn the key to the ON position but DO NOT start the car. The oil pressure should read "0" when the engine is off, if it gives a positive reading then the oil pressure sensor is out.

It is much simpler to replace it than relocate it...
The post by Vectorz is excellent and will give you step by step instructions that anyone who can read and turn a wrench can do.

This write-up by VectorZ is excellent. Definitely use it if you chose to remove the plenum

Actually, relocating the oil pressure sensor was very easy and quick. And if that sensor goes bad again in the future, it's now located where it will take 5 min's to replace.

I discovered the removal of the intake plenum and all the stuff you do before putting it back with all the hoses in the correct location is what takes the most time for first timers.

You see, it's not just as easy as removing the plenum and placing it back in. Because once out, you see carbon build up in the plenum and that has to be cleaned out. Then you have the same crap in the cyl head ports. Then, you might as well go ahead and replace that air pump check valve while you are it....
