So, anytime the car is not running the passenger seat makes a humming noise? Or do you just hear the humming when you put the key in the run position without starting the engine?
-The seat multifunction switch is not returning to center and causing one of the motors to continue to run.
-The Lumbar bladder is dead and the pump is trying to maintain pressure in the bladder.
-The position seat feed back circuit is bad and the seat is trying to seek a position that it cant.
- You have a stuck relay driving one of the motors.
-One of the motor drive cables is bad and the motor is trying to position the seat to the correct position.
Try driving the seat in all the positions that it can go. UP, DOWN, FORWARD, BACK, TIP UP, TIP DOWN, and see if the seat responds to all the commands properly. Also check that lumbar support motor (if you have one)
The seat makes noise when the key is not in the ignition. Also I discovered the only function that works is the forward to back, not the lunbar, height, etc. Thanks for all the assistance.
Your seat is powered by a HOT AT ALL TIMES source. You can move it when the key is OFF.
So,,,,,,,,,,,if something is stuck ON (like the seat position multifunction switch) the motors are going to run. Especially if one of the drive cables is boken. My recommendation is, put the seat in you favorite driving position and un plug it. That motor running has to be draining your battery.
