319 rwhp with Borla stringers and CAI. Added kooks headers and tune-349rwhp. The increase was very noticeable. Well worth the money. The LS1 is bone stock with M6.

The 3100 lb C5 LS1 manual stock with a good driver can run high 12’s on street tires I can’t see the 3600 -3700 lbs (-1/10/et for every 100lbs vs hp) 2011 Mustang 5.0 running much faster than high 12’s stock so I really can’t see how they will be eating the C5’s lunch if both have good drivers. I think it would come down to driver’s race driver vs driver. I think if anything it will be a close race stick vs stick if both hook up and both are (good launch-60’ and shifting) good drivers. Just my thoughts I don’t want to debate this/hijack the op’s thread but had to respond to your statement.

Three years ago my 2003 Coupe was stock (except VaraRam and Corsa Touring catbacks) and I pulled 299rwhp (I don't remember rwtq) on a an SAE corrected Mustang Dyno.

Today, not so stock.... 416rwhp/392rwtq. :o

Sorry, I had to type that. I just did get the H/C done. and love the new power.

Me Too

the baseline mods were XS Power LT Headers, Ported 78 mil Throttle Body, LG big breather and air bridge, with LS6 intake manifold, stock 1998' 806 heads and cam, and lightweight 40 lbs clutch assembly.

The "after" results are with AFR 205 heads, LS6 Intake Manifold, Ported 78 mil TB, LG big Breather and Air Bridge, XS Power LT's, and a 223/227 610/613 114 +1 LSA cam with LXL lobes....basically we added the cam and AFR 205 heads and a tune from one of the best in the biz.

With just the cat back and cai along w/procharger was 500rwhp. Can you pm me the kit info details. Thanks john

You can discuss this until the cows come home, but it all depends on the type of dyno and how it's calibrated.

Trust the seat of your pants and your time slips.

Enlightening post.
, Borla Type S , Tune by RPM of Raleigh, NC and dyno showed 342 rear wheel HP. Showed dyno of 291 stock. Just sharing , not bragging. It is an automatic. I will tell you it really pulls compared to my 01 with just cat back. Sounds great and very little to no drone.No comparison. No codes, shifts firmer , but not too hard and I think the headers really helped it. I added K&N after buying it, probably a few more HP-- though not much and no SOTP feel improvement from K&N. I stuck a K&N in my Merc GM big tank, and was surprised to actually feel it.

I bought my GF a V6 Mustang Race Red vert and put a K&N in. it is a quick, super tight, real nice driving little car stock at 300 brake HP. Lot less torque though, but great for her replacing a PT cruiser Touring vert --a real dog. Fugly, too! I refused to be seen it.

A few years ago, one of the more popular suppliers (Corvette Central) did a 4 step stage improvement package on the C5 with following results:
stock - 318 rwhp, 334 ft lbs;
Stage 1 intake - 337 & 345;
Stage 2 mufflers - 340 & 343;
Stage 3 headers (long tube) - 354 & 352;
Stage 4 cam - 385 & 352.
You can find the article under "tech" at Corvette c Central's website.
These results are consistent with several other members so i used it as guideline for prepping my 02 convert. All except the cam as I "promised" my wife I wouldn't "open it up". Did install 1.8 ratio rockers though so that should be good for a bit.

My package is a Vararam ram intake, BBK TB and alum intake, Comp Cams 1.82 alum rockers, Pfadt tri-Y headers with Corsa X-pipe and exhaust. Mid-range power is out-of-sight for street driver.

With stock tires, I hope to be under 13.0 sec but have to wait until next spring to find out.
