I think what dougbfresh is trying to say is any mechanic should be able to perform those two very basic tasks on any car without instructions. I wouldn't be very comfortable with any mechanic or mechanically inclined person using my car to learn on. I would seek out a Corvette specialist or at least someone with some experience on these cars.
But, I'm sure that if you use the search function in this forum, there will be several right-ups on how to perform those tasks. If you can't find anything, send me a PM and I will send you the instructions out of my GM shop manual.
dougbfresh, it sounds like the car, owner, and mechanic are oversees. To the original poster, there is a search function button, in the middle of the top of the page,. Press it, and type in the key words you are looking for.
Oh yes. I should have mention I am in France. Corvette specialists are not comon ans always expensive. And they are so called specialists!
My guy is a very good mecanical and has worked a lots of my cars in the past. I prefer him with a good book than any so called specialist. He will never do something fast or risky if he doenst know.

Picked up on that EARLY-come on guys, changing sway bars and trans fluid and his guy need help? Most every trans filter kit I've seen has instructions in it, the owners manual says how much to add after a change. If the guy can't swap a sway bar without instructions-he's got real problems.
If he's that remote, buy a service manual or download one. Every car I own I buy the service manual 1st thing. The manual probably costs less than the sway bar and will pay for itself in no time.
Well, not exactly the kind of answer I was looking for !
;-)
No the guy is a professionnal. But he wants to be sure there are no special things to know about c5 corvette. It is a way of not loosing time.
But I have found a friend who has a book about the car and he'll post me scans of it.
Thanks anyway.

When you live 5000 miles from the nearest dealer (ME) its always worth checking for tips for even the simplest of jobs. I had a TPS broke. The replacements took 4 weeks to arrive and the eeejit at the local tire shop destroyed the one he took off. Luckily it was the dead one not the new one.
Simple jobs are easy with the appropriate advice. Rotor and pad changes are easy - if you know about the E Brake foibles.
