I just spoke to DRM about this yesterday. They have them for the coupe and hardtop. I would assume that they would have it for the vert. They run about $ 490.00
Looks nice , but I hope you don't get into an accident with that thing so close to your head!
It clears my helmet. I have short legs and in the picture the seat is all the way back. Normal driving I have the lap belt always locked, and when I have her out on the track my 6-point harnesses insure that driver and passenger will not move much.
roll bars do need to have a diagonal brace in the big hoop and have padding within 6 inches of where a helmet could hit to pass a tech inspection for autocross, DE schools or any competitive event.
Many event also have the broom stick rule. By placing a broom stick from the top of the wind shield to the top of the roll bar, there must be at least 2 inches of clearance between the broom stick and your helmet.
If a roll bar is not installed correctly and or does not meet the safety standerds set by the sporting organization that roll bar may lead to more injuries. Check with the orgaization, SCCA, NASA, NCCCC or whom ever on the requirenments before installing one.
Be smart and be safe, then drive the heck out of it.
You and I both well know that unless you cut the tonneau cover, there's only ONE way they go in a vert, one and only one
ECS did mine and they did a fantastic job!
No one's debating that.
Those bars are very nice, but I spend a LOT more time on the street than on the track. I feel better knowing I have the bar an extra 8" back than that. Yes, I had the tonneau notched to be able to do that, but to date, no one's even noticed until I pointed it out.

I would love to find one that could be installed after the top was up, permitted full seat travel, is located well behind the seat headrest area for safety's sake as well as appearance and didn't have to dig into/cut the tonneau.
I know that it's alot but I also don't require the top to work with the rollbar installed. If I want to have the top down, I'd just remove it ahead of time and drive more reasonable.
A roll bar does not need a diagnoal brace. http://www.nhra.com/contacts/tech_faq.html When do I need a roll bar or roll cage, and what should it look like?
A roll bar is required in any convertible running 13.99 seconds or quicker in the quarter mile, and in other cars beginning at 11.99. The roll bar is accepted in vehicles running as quick as 10.00 second e.t., provided the stock firewall and floorboard is intact, other than for installation of wheel tubs. The rollbar must be constructed of minimum 1 ¾ inch o.d. x .118 inch wall mild steel tubing, or 1 ¾ x .083 chrome moly tubing

Ok NHRA does not require a diagonal brase, but I do believe SCCA and NASA and NCCC does. I would really hate too see ppl go to all the trouble to put in a great roll bar in a vert to show up at a DE school or any road race track time / autocross event and get rejected by the Tech inspection and have to go home early and not get a refund.
It is the resonsability of the owner and driver to make sure their car is safe and passes the tech inspection, before going to the event.
I have the SCCA tech guild lines in pdf format. I will convert it to text and post as soon as I can. I am not trying to be a stick in the mud, just would like to see more vette owners on the tracks REALLY enjoying thier cars.
