Why not save the money and set the air gap on the clutch properly?

How can this be done without removing the driveline? I'd like to know for future reference.

I just want to say that installing the tick master clutch cylinder(if you have never done it on a vette before) is a PITA!!!! Im on day one, and its still not back in yet.

That's no BS! I had 8 hours in my install over the course of 2 days, and I have a lift, and getting the middle nut back on when re-installing the pedal assembly was almost impossible. I had to get my friends son who has small hands get the nut started for me!
It'll be worth it in the long run, at least you'll be able to shift your car smoothly at high rpm.

you really think itll be worth it huh? I almost chucked my pedal assembly accross the street today I was so pissed at the car. haha. That middle nit is the worst to get off and I can only imagine the battle to get it back on. I sure hope it becomes worth it when I am finished.

I did this install myself in a few hours...I'm 6'4", 200lbs (today), and have very large/arthritic hands and the install is not that bad...you need ratchet-wrenches.
Good luck and yes it's worth it.

Well heres an update for you...
i installed it finally, and adjusted it(and I think I adjusted it too high, because later last night at 7k rpms when I hit the pedal so I could shift to third my clutch grenaded. It literally blew my bellhousing into pieces

What a way to end the weekend haha

I know, thats what everyone else I know was thinking. Somehow it didnt appear to do any damage to the underside of the vehicle either or the floor boards.. Just broken bellhousing(and clutch I assume)

Actually my theory is that I adjusted the tick improperly and over extended the slave cylinder and pressure plate fingers ...OOPS

That is what happened when I put mine together a few weeks back. I had a Mcleod Twin dics and master that I had Mcleod rebuild while I had it out. I installed it and noticed when checking some stuff the the torque tube shaft would lock up when the clutch was fully depressed. I called them and they said to put a stock master in it because the shimming job they did was off (or send the whole clutch back again). Lucky I kept the stock master around for the last 4.5 years wrapped in plastic. So another couple hours of labor(what do they care)and it stopped the overextending you probably experienced. I'm glad I caught that or I could be up the same creek you are. It's good to here you didn't get hurt, I've seen a clutch come through the floor board before and the trama it caused, real ugly. Good luck on the repairs

Does the installation instructions for this product caution against this possibility? I've always wondered about the possibility of this happening since the stock slave cylinder's travel is determined by the delivery volume of the stock master cylinder.

I read no where in the instructions about any warning of this. It simply could have been prevented if I hadnt had the pedal adjusted so high. I was wondering when I was releasing the clutch pedal why the clutch engaged so high. I didnt have to depress it all the way to the floor to get it to dis engage either... I should have adjusted it lower but im a dumbass, and didnt. so here we are.

A warning not to do that would have been nice, but ohwell.

beee careful with it. Start with adjustment from the floor and come up from there. My car is still apart and its been more than two months. However a forged block is going in for 15psi boost, and a twin disc sooo itll be worth it
