Has anybody done this? Is this a dumb idea? My buddy keeps telling me when I get my maggie installed, I'll have more torque then I can put down in first, second, and maybe 3rd...so I was thinking why not reduce the torque a tad with gears, keep the flat torque curve, and put all the power down. Plus I wont have to shift as soon.

I know it sounded too good to be true...I just thought it would be great to hit 60 mph in first gear I pretty much do all my racing light to light, so if I had enough torque to spare, why not hit 60 without shifting lol

Has this been done, or is it horse ****?
Perfectly good plan. You can always change gears later.
I bought my maggie with 2.73, up side close to 120 2nd gear, 80+MPH at 1400RPMS, but I would trade for 3.73 anytime.
My car drives fine, it has 500+RWHP, but with some better gears it would be a totally different animal. If you are putting a maggie on keep stock gears, but if you want to trade I am all for it!!
