I went to start my car today and nothing! I have been driving it daily and when I went to go get lunch I unlocked it with the fob no problem. When I put the key in the ignition it made a funny sound like something shorted out. Now there is absolutely no electrical power to anything.
Any help before I call a tow truck? I've disconnectedthe battery and in gonna let it sit for 30 minutes then reconnect and try again.
Well, start with a meter and see what voltage is on the battery. You need at least 12.5vdc static for things to happen. Next would be your battery cables and the cable to the solenoid. Make sure all are clean and tight. From there, move on to your ignition swtich. If you can get electrical power, try pulling your codes.
Gosh I love this forum! I was reading through a few threads and read the one that said the battery needs to be tightened to 13 pounds of torque. I went out to my car and connected the battery again. I then went to tighten the posotive terminal and when I did click, LIFE!!!!
You are correct! Just getting people to understand that battery terminal TORQUE is important is TWO STEPS forward to happy Corvette Owner Ship and care free motoring!
