Default 99 fob problems

This is my problem: My keys to my 99 are hanging on the key rack in my laundry room which is attached to my garage, everytime I open the door to go inside my garage and the door closes the fob will unlock and lock the doors of my 99. I replaced the fob once and the batteries twice. I have moved the keys to the garage and it still does the same thing. I have retrained the fobs also. One time I put the keys on the floor of my 99 and the fob lock the car. I do not have the fob in the passive mode.

Thanks In Advance.
Gary

The fob passive switch contacts get corroded or dirty and will intermittently make and brake contact. Try sliding the passive switch back and forth rapidly several times and see if that doesn't resolve your issue. You can use some contact cleaner spray to clean further if necessary. The sliding motion will wipe the contacts enough to tell if that is the problem. You can also purchase a 2000 fob and train it to your car and keep your 99 fobs away from the car. That fob will work, but without the passive feature.

Go into set up in the IPC and make sure that you dont have passive mode set.

I went into the options and the auto lock was on, I changed that to off and it seems to have fix the problem.

Thanks Again,
Gary

I open the fob and I did not see any issues but I went ahead and spray some electronic cleaner on everything.

Thanks Again,
