So it looks like I'm going to be getting my new Vert. I know the limiter was raised on my Z06 to 6800 without worry. Factory the LS1 was set way lower than that. Will the valve train handle an RPM increase without the LS6 goodies?
Yeah was looking at stock power curves, the six speed would benefit from longer gear runs but the damn ls1 cam sucks so bad it would be pointless. I know for a fact my Z will pull strong all the way to redline, but in the meantime I guess this thing will be a nice "cruiser"
Gonna be so weird having 120 less horsepower and 200 more lbs . Thank god at least it is a mn6 with 3.42. I can't imagine what an A4 with 2.73 feels like.

Leave the limiter in stock setting. The LS6 has better springs and there isn't power to be made in a LS1 that high up in the RPM band anyway
i have pretty basic mods on my 113k mile LS1 (intake, shorty headers, exhaust), and my tuner raised my limiter to 6500. After that, it wouldnt make any more power. It probably never will without a cam or set of heads.
I asked him about the stock valve springs, and he said its not a problem at 6500. im not sure how many of you know Dr. Phil, but people take their vettes to him from all over the country. I would beleive him before anybody. So i would assume its safe to push it up to around 6500 as long as its still making power there.
