I plan on buying new tires for my 97' soon. IMO the nitto's (555)offer the most bang for the buck.(Tire rack best deal?) My question is; Should I increase tire size
to yield better grip up front? What specific size should I goto and what can I expect? Should I just perform a routine alignment after the new tires on on?
Re: Need advice for tire size/selection....... (C54LIFE)
you can go as wide as a 295 on the rear 18x9.5 stock rim and a 275 on the front 17x8.5 stock rim. yes, definitely get an alignment done. the best 69.95 you'll spend on your suspension. and, depending on your driving, you can ask to have a custom alignment done. so, if you road race a lot, like to take a lot of turns agressively, you can ask to have another 1 degree of camber tweaked in. or, if you are a hard core drag racer, you can request the rear camber be straight up on 0 (rear end squats, tires gain negative camber on hard launches).
