Default Coolant crossover tubes...

Hey all, I put a ls6 valley cover on my 00 ls1 tonight, and i know the write up said you need the ls6 tube and plugs, but I never did see a reason as to WHY! Well, I found out real quick tonight, that the pipe will not clear the new pcv line out of the valley cover. I swear i once saw someone have pics up of a modified setup. What I was thinking of doing is cutting the pipe about an inch off each plug in the front and using rubber fuel line, and putting another T to go to the back plugs. Has anybody done something like this before?

That was probably ME! I have a LS6 and wanted to utilize the rear crossover on my heads / cam upgrade. So,,,I purchased an additional LS6 FRONT coolant cross over tube and installed it on the rear.

You will need to get a good inspection mirror and light to make sure that it does not contact the manifold. I have a FAST 90 installed so it took a good bit of careful and controlled tweaking to get the correct clearances. I did some custom bending and once it fit properly, I ran a rubber coolant line to the front and used a T to pipe it into the line that goes to the radiator. No issues after a couple of years of installation use.

Yep, I did the same thing. Just did not like the coolant bleeds blocked off by #7&8.

I think I am going to try to modify the current piping tonight as I will be on somewhat of a time crunch, and I dont know if I can get the pipes by Friday. I will try to remember to take pics

I don't see why not. Your local dealer can probably have it in a day....if not in stock.
