Default Clutch Help?

98 coupe 32kmi. blackwing , dynatech to borla , a&a vortech

Let me first say that I have read almost every clutch post on this forum. Seems like everyone has something great and terrible to say about every one.

Stock clutch is done. What do you guys recommend for a street car in the 500rwhp range, maybe a dozen passes a summer?

Im leaning toward the LS7. Please advise, I need to make a decision soon. thanks

What makes you think that this thread will be any different that all of the inconsequential dribble that has already been said about all of the aftermarket clutches out there?

I know this is whipping a dead horse.

I want to make my mind up between the LS7 or Spec III, or any other suggestions and order one in the morning.

Im not going any higher in HP for a while, not launching 100 times a summer and just looking for a few informed opinions.

i just ordered a monster stage 3, the worst i hear about these clutches is some chatter

spec seems to have way too many bad things said about them

and i was just iffy about the ls7 clutch, i read numerous people smoking them at 400hp.

I also have the level 3 Monster. I would never do it again. It makes horrible noises when it glazes the flywheel, which is often if you dont launch regularly at 2500-3000 rpm. Its waaay to much for a street driven car. I was sold the clutch on the premis that it had the same characteristics of a stock set up. Thats complete BS. It has a nice positive engagement, but better suited for drag race duty than street duty.

I asked the same question a few weeks ago. Im going to end up using a Centerforce DFX kit. A few people have them and love them, and they have been around for awhile. Good luck
